Teaching Style

Vocal technique is taught in the Bel Canto tradition of healthy, easy vocal production. Lessons focus on developing breath control, proper vowel formation, diction in English and foreign languages, song interpretation, audition skills, and performance preparation. Musical styles taught include classical, musical theatre, jazz, rock, folk, and pop. Students perform on studio recitals and and other opportunities available throughout the year.

Amy’s students have performed at Carnegie Hall, won national competitions, landed leading roles in musical theatre productions, and gained acceptance at prestigious international performing arts colleges. Amy is a natural mentor and expert technician. Her intuitive, supportive style sparks her students’ inspiration and confidence, enabling them to access and beautifully execute their true and fully realized musical expression.
